Labour Party promise to “deliver a fresh start” for Nottinghamshire County Council in upcoming local council elections on May 1
Labour say they are committed to “fixing Nottinghamshire’s foundations” as they announce candidates for the upcoming local elections.
On May 1, residents will go to the polls to elect their Nottinghamshire County Council representatives.
The party is fielding a number of well known community figures among their candidates, including those with extensive experience at different town, district, and borough council levels of local politics.
A party spokesperson said that in order to secure “the best deal for Nottinghamshire”, the county needed a Labour-run county council which could work with the Labour government.
If elected, all Labour candidates have also pledged to working towards five main goals.
These are; to invest in the county but be responsible with council finances, invest in children’s and family services, tackle crime and anti-social behaviour, fix potholes and road infrastructure, and put a focus on rebuilding local NHS services.
“Labour are the only ones that can deliver the change Nottinghamshire needs,” the spokesperson said.
“We’ll partner with the new Labour government, and Nottinghamshire’s Labour MPs, to get the best deal for our residents – building services around your needs
“Our priority is fixing the foundations. We’ll make sure no place in Nottinghamshire is left out or left behind. Labour will deliver a fresh start.”
