Readers’ Letters: Mind made up over stadium




It looks like Newark Labour has already made up their minds on the Yorke Drive football stadium proposal before it has even gone to the planning committee.

A statement from Newark Labour Branch has come out firmly opposing the project, despite the fact that Sport England has already approved the existing redevelopment plans with conditions.

Any changes would need to go through Sport England again, causing further delays.

So, while Labour councillors will officially have to consider this proposal at planning, their own association is already speaking on their behalf, suggesting they have made up their minds before hearing all the evidence.

Every Labour councillor who represents the Newark Labour party will now have to have a conflict of interest on this application
