Huge pothole at Morrisons Newark now fixed following shopper complaints

A huge pothole on the entrance to a supermarket carpark has now been fixed.

The pothole, measuring roughly eight feet in diameter and in places approximately two to three inches in depth, stretched across both lanes on the entrance and exit ramp to Morrisons carpark on King street, Newark.

The issue was raised by shoppers who complained that the pothole posed a danger to them and their vehicles, with many observed as trying to drive to the edges and avoid the worst parts.

Also on the vehicle ramp was a dislodged drain cover, posing another hazard to drivers.

As the carpark is owned privately by Morrisons, the supermarket held responsibility for maintenance of the road surface over Nottinghamshire County Council's highways who deal with public roads.

Morrisons have now confirmed to the Advertiser that the pothole has been fixed.
