Newark based charity Children’s Bereavement Centre welcomes new fundraising manager
A children’s charity have welcomed an experience new fundraising manager who hopes to help strengthen support for the young people they help.
The Children’s Bereavement Centre, a much-loved Newark charity dedicated to supporting children through grief, have appointed Charlotte Williams as the new fundraising and marketing manager.
Charlotte has a background in events, business development and marketing and will head the newly formed fundraising team.
She said she felt excited and fortunate to be working for the Children’s Bereavement Centre and was ready to “do great things, and contribute to the incredible work already being done.”
Alongside the rest of the fundraising team, consisting of marketing executive Katie Gibson, community fundraiser Clare Sears, and fundraising and events assistant Clarie Spindley, Charlottes will be responsible to for helping to organise the charity’s popular annual fundraising events as well as helping to facilitate individual fundraising efforts.
“We are working hard to foster both our community and corporate partnerships, and create a calendar of engaging events that will raise vital funds and awareness for our charity.” she added.
Since its inception, the Children’s Bereavement Centre has been well supported by the community of Newark, allowing them to offer compassionate assistance to children coping with the loss of a loved one, terminal diagnosis of someone close to them.
The charity’s services are offered free of charge and not only helps young individuals process their grief, but also provides a safe space for them to connect with peers who share similar experiences, through social groups and an annual camp.
Upcoming events in the 2024/2025 calendar include the ever-popular Dragon Boat Festival (in partnership with Beaumond House Hospice Care), duck race, charity concert, golf days and much more.
These events have been designed to engage both business and members of the community and encourage involvement in the charity’s mission.
The charity’s chief executive, Kate Baxter, said: “Grief is a journey that can be both devastating and incredibly isolating for children and their families.
“Through our fundraising efforts, we aim to give every grieving child in our area, the support they need. Charlotte’s role is crucial in helping us extend our reach and continue to be able to offer our services to those in need.”
