New McDonald’s location on London Road, Newark, next door to Odeon Cinema, opens at 11am today

A new fast food restaurant will open in Newark today, bringing an old favourite to the town centre.

McDonald’s will be opening its new town centre location next door to the Odeon Cinema on London Road, at 11am this morning.

The retail unit, which had previously sat empty for some time, was snapped up by the fast food chain with plans to bring the space back into use submitted in May.

McDonald’s does operate a drive-thru location on the edge of Newark, on Lincoln Road, just off the Brownhills Roundabout.

However, for many years the town centre has been without any fast food restaurants, the last to close being a Wimpy, on Middlegate, around a decade ago.

The new McDonald’s on London Road will open from 6am to 10pm each day.

The interior has been completely remodelled, with toilets and indoor seating available.
