New McDonald's on London Road, Newark, opening date revealed

The opening date of a new fast food restaurant in Newark has been revealed.

McDonald’s will be opening its new town centre location, next door to the Odeon Cinema on London Road, on October 23.

In May, the fast food chain submitted plans for the retail unit, which had previously sat empty for some time.

Newark and Sherwood District Council granted approval to a request for a change of use and the installation of the classic ‘Golden Arch’ McDonald’s signs.

The interior has been completely remodelled and food preparation facilities installed.

The company already has another Newark site just off the Brownhills Roundabout on Lincoln Road, but until now there had been no fast food restaurants in the town centre.

Job listings are also currently open for customer care and maintenance staff at the new London Road location.
