Scone Hill Preschool Playgroup in Newark has shed donated by A1 Garden Buildings of Farndon after suffering thefts in the past
A children’s playgroup from Newark targeted by trike thieves has received a shed to keep equipment safe and deter repeat events.
A1 Garden Buildings of Hawton Lane, Farndon donated and installed the shed after Wagner Fencing and Landscapes laid the foundations for it to stand upon, free of charge.
The shed was donated after two children's trikes were stolen from the playgroup in early October and during the summer equipment was thrown by youths onto the roof of Christ Church Hall on Boundary Road, Newark where the playgroup is based.
The trikes were stolen by a schoolboy, but were later returned after the parent of the boy made contact to apologise.
Pre-school manager, Stephanie Hughes is especially thankful saying: "These two wonderful companies have come together to provide us such a great service and a much needed place to store our equipment.
"It's fantastic what they have done for our charity playgroup and we are so grateful to them.
"Now we won't have to worry about bikes or anything else being stolen in the future."
A Halloween hamper donated by Perfect Party Package was also raffled to help pay for the shed, but following the generosity of A1 Garden Buildings the money raised will instead go toward the purchase of a lock for the new shed and painting supplies for the children to help decorate it.
