Overnight road closures and diversion on A616 Newark Road in Wellow, due to road resurfacing carried out by Via East Midlands
Five nights of road closures through a village are due to start from today.
The A616 Newark Road in Wellow will be closed from its junction with Eakring Road, south-east for 500m, from this evening (January 8) to Saturday (January 13).
The closure will take place from 8pm to 6am each night to enable road resurfacing to take place.
Via East Midlands will carry out the work on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council.
There will be a diversion while the works take place via: A616 Wellow Road (Ollerton) – A616 Back Lane - A616 Ollerton Road A6075 Mansfield Road - A6075 Ollerton Road - A6075 Peafield Lane -A60 Leeming Lane South - A60 Woodhouse Road - A6009 St. Peter’s Way - A6191 Ratcliffe Gate - A6191 Rock Hill – A6191 Southwell Road West - A617 Rainworth Bypass - A617 Kirklington Road Road (Farnsfield) - A617 Newark Road (Hockerton) towards Kelham - A616 Ollerton Road and vice-versa.
The diversion is longer than originally planned in order to avoid flooded roads.
