Nottinghamshire Police Roads Policing Unit stop van and recover stolen tools in Newark area




Police have recovered stolen tools after a suspicious van failed to stop.

The Nottinghamshire Roads Policing Unit were on patrol in the Newark area in the early hours of Friday morning when they stumbled across a van caught in the act of a theft.

The van failed to stop for the police and led officers on a short pursuit before going off road in an attempt to escape.

With assistance from the police drone team the van was located a long way into fields.

The van was recovered along with suspected stolen Stihl tools found inside.

Anyone who may have had any Stihl items recently stolen in the Staple Lane area of Balderton should contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident 0028, March 3, 2023.
