The Nottinghamshire Police Beat Team have completed speed checks along the Main Road through Alverton & Kilvington, following a number of reports from residents of vehicles speeding through their Villages.
The speed checks came as part of Operation Mimical, which aims to reduce the number of drivers participating in four main violations:
- Use of a mobile phone whilst driving
- Not wearing a seat belt
- Speeding
- Driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs
The Operation involved the checking of 68 Vehicles in total, with 14 Vehicles being stopped and their drivers advised.
The police have vowed that the operation is not a one off, stating on Facebook: "We will continue to carry on enforcing The Fatal Five #OperationMimical to ensure that our Rural roads in and around Nottinghamshire are safer for us all."
