Newark Advertiser reader letters: Questions over council tax

I have read with interest letters asking about increases in council tax in the last two editions of the Advertiser.

As I understand it there were an additional 675 houses built in the year to March 2024, and, at an average of just £2,500 p.a. for each the district council tax Income would have increased some £1.7m.

It does seem that the questions posed have some merit, or are we missing something here? — Robert Campbell, via email.
