Nottinghamshire County Council appeal for unused British Red Cross medical equipment in recycling scheme with drop-off points in Ollerton and Nottingham

The county council is appealing to residents with unused medical equipment to hand them over for recycling and reuse.

Nottinghamshire County Council made the appeal on its social media channels, saying: "If you’ve now recovered from an operation or injury and no longer need the crutches, walking frame or other equipment borrowed from the British Red Cross, this can be recycled.

"The British Red Cross can arrange for the item to be collected, cleaned, serviced and re-issued to someone else in need."
