Sinkhole on Queen's Road, Newark closes road with diversion in place

A diversion is in place as a busy town centre road has been closed.
Queen's Road, Newark from where it meets Northgate to the Lovers Lane roundabout has been closed due to the appearance of a sinkhole.
Traffic is being diverted via Northgate, Northern Road and Sleaford Road to Queen's Road and vice versa.
The stretch of road will remain closed while a sinkhole investigation is undertaken.
Follow up repairs will take place if the fault is found to be Nottinghamshire County Council's responsibility.
The duration of the closure is as yet unknown, but motorists are advised to avoid the areas if possible as delays are likely .
