Six months of road closures planned as part of £1.8m Severn Trent Water upgrade project for Flintham

Roadworks have begun on a six month long road closure plan to allow utility work upgrades to take place.

These works will take place in phases starting on Spring Road between Flintham and Screveton, which closed yesterday, with a projected end date of March 6.

Work will then move from Spring Lane to Flintham Lane, Inholms Road, Main Street and Town End Lane before finishing up on Woods Lane.

The full schedule of road closures are intended to run until June 19, although this may be brought forward if works are completed ahead of schedule.

Closing the roads will enable Severn Trent Water to carry out utility work upgrades as a part of a £1.8m project to replace 4.6km of pipework in the area.

The programme of upgrades in Flintham aims to reduce the risk of customer supply interruptions through incidents such as burst pipes and ensure the network can meet future demands such as population growth and climate change.
