Well this is an unusual sight?

There is a saying in Newark that the town must have its own weather system because it never snows here — but unbelievably today it did.

A cold weather alert was put in place from the start of this week thanks to the arrival of a northerly airflow which is drawing icy air from the Arctic across England.

This Arctic airmass has brought with it below-freezing temperatures, ice and snow to many parts of the country including Newark and Nottinghamshire.

Even if it doesn't hang around, it was fun while it lasted.
