Sainsbury’s Local supermarket to temporarily close store in Balderton near Newark for store upgrade




A local supermarket convenience store will close its doors to undergo an upgrade.

Sainsbury’s on London Road, Balderton, will temporarily close for ten days, from 4pm today (June 19) until Thursday, June 29.

The store closure will take place in order to make a range of improvements and refresh the shopping experience including new signage and fixtures throughout as well as new checkouts.

The upgrades will also include the replacement of refrigerated cabinets and underlying heating and cooling infrastructure with the latest technology.

These improvements are focusing on making the store more energy efficient as part of Sainsbury’s wider sustainability plans and ambitions, known as our Plan for Better, which aims for the company to reach net zero emissions by 2035.

A Sainsbury’s spokesperson, said: “We’re constantly investing in our store estate to ensure we provide the best offer we can to the customers and communities we serve.

“We hope our customers in Balderton will enjoy their newly refreshed store once the upgrade works are complete and we’d like to thank everyone for bearing with us while we make these changes.”

The nearest alternative Sainsbury’s Local store is located in Bingham.
