Swimming with Sharks fundraiser in support of Beaumond House Hospice Care looking for volunteers

Take a deep breath and dive in to a fundraiser with bite, a charity shark swim.

Beaumond House Hospice Care is looking for volunteers to take part in this incredible challenge and swim with one of the most majestic sea creatures.

Fearless fundraisers will be taught how to dive, signal and breathe underwater before swimming alongside blacktip reef sharks, nurse sharks, cownose rays and tropical fish.

The shark swim will take place on Friday October 28 at the Bear Grylls Adventure and Activity Centre in Birmingham and the experience will lasts up to 120 minutes.

Melissa Schofield-Linnell from Southwell will be one of the fundraisers taking the plunge and said: “I am very excited to be taking on this challenge.

"Fundraising is a huge part of my life but this is completely different from anything I’ve done before.

"It really will take me out of my comfort zone. My children can’t wait to come and watch.”

Those looking to get involved can do so in one of two ways.

  • Choose to fundraise for Beaumond House Hospice — with a minimum target of £500, plus a non-refundable £50 deposit which will secure your place.
  • Alternatively, pay for your place — this is £190 which will cover the cost of the swim and help Beaumond House Hospice, with no expectation to raise funds. A non-refundable £50 deposit is included in this price.

There are just two spaces remaining for this once in a life time opportunity and anyone who would like to get involved or find out more can do so on the Beaumond House website HERE.

Anyone over the age of 10 can take part, although under 16s will need the consent of an adult who will need to be present on the day. All participants will need to complete a medical declaration form.
