During the stop officers discovered that the rear nearside inner tyre was devoid of any tread and the nearside outside rear tyre was significantly deflated to the point that there was no inflation at all.

The van was prohibited from moving due to the tyre defects and a traffic offence report was issued to the driver.

Police are reminding drivers that tyres need to be checked regularly for any cuts, bulges, tread wear or under-inflation, as failure to do so can be unsafe to the vehicle driver and other road users..
