Newark Town Councillor Lisa Geary to lead women's history walk through Newark this International Women's Day, Saturday, March 8

A former Mayor of Newark will be leading a Women's History Walk this International Women's Day.

The guided educational walk around Newark was developed by Newark Town Councillor Lisa Geary alongside two friends, and will take place this Saturday, March 8.

Lisa first held the walk on International Women's Day in 2022 during her time as the Town Mayor, and is bringing it back for another year.

Anyone interested in taking part is asked to me at the statue of Irena Sendler, in Fountain Gardens, 9.30am, and is free to attend

This year the walk will conclude in the Newark Market Place before 11.45am.

Any donations taken during the walk will be given to one of the Town Mayor's chosen charities, Newark Food Bank, which will also receive donations on Saturday as part of the annual Hercules Clay event.
