“The children were excited to come dressed in sports wear or football kits and to be able to learn new skills or showcase existing abilities.

“This year we are sponsoring one of the players from the team and as we have lots of budding footballers attending the club we thought it would be a great opportunity for them to experience a training session.”

“We have both boys and girls at the club that play for local teams in the youth leagues and we always aim to plan activities at the club which reflect the interests of the children attending.

“It is important too for us to promote a healthy lifestyle and to get the children moving whilst having fun.

“We are hearing more about women’s football in the media recently since the Lioness’ success at the women’s Euros and it is great that we are able to work with local teams to promote women as positive role models in sport.”
