Newark Rugby Club will start first team league fixtures at home to Matlock this September.
In the newly-published list, Newark follow the opening match on September 7 by travelling to Nottinghamshire rivals Paviors a week later.
While Matlock and Paviors are familiar opponents, new opponents are also included in Regional Two North Midlands next season led by newly-promoted Old Saltleians from Birmingham on September 28.
Newark 1sts finished eighth last season by winning 11 out of 22 matches.
Newark’s 2nd team also begin their league season on September 7, at Notts Casuals, followed by a home game against Derby 2nds.
Two pre-season fixtures have also been organised.
Both the 1sts and 2nds travel to Peterborough on Saturday, August 17, followed by matches against RAF XVs a week later at Kelham Road.
Meanwhile, a volunteer at Newark Rugby Club for the best part of 50 years is the latest recipient of the club’s prestigious John Lawrence Trophy.
Jenny Marshall received the Trophy at the club’s annual volunteer awards night at the Kelham Road clubhouse.
Mrs Marshall has been a volunteer for the best part of 50 years, helping in a number of roles, including the launch of the mini and youth section alongside husband and life member Dickie back in the 1980s. She has also been a regular in the team at the Newark and Notts Show.
She received the trophy from Jean Lawrence, who awards the annual trophy in memory of husband John, a former player who died in 2000.
