Family-run estate agency Richard Watkinson & Partners expands services with new Newark town centre premises at 25 Stodman Street
A family-run estate agency that has been successfully operating across the East Midlands for over 30 years is moving into a larger town centre location as the business continues to grow.
Richard Watkinson & Partners has been a familiar face on Newark’s high street for decades, providing a friendly and personable approach to customer service.
As estate agents and chartered surveyors, the firm offers a full range of property services, including sales, lettings, property management, land, and new homes, which as the business has grown became spread across different locations within Newark town centre.
Now, they are moving all of their services under one roof, at a larger, more central location at 25 Stodman Street, unifying the various departments and making it a seamless process for customers to be able to visit one location for any or all of the services they require.
Founder and managing director, Richard Watkinson, first set up the firm in 1988, with just three members of staff in a small office on Northgate — ironically 25 Stodman Street being where he started his professional career as a trainee for Edward Bailey & Sons.
Since then, the business has grown into a team of more than 30 members, with locations in Newark, Southwell, Bingham, Radcliffe on Trent, and Mansfield.
While global events in recent years have led to big changes in the property market, Richard Watkinson & Partners have remained a stable source of support and advice for interested home buyers and sellers in the area.
Richard’s daughter, Kirsty Keeton, is a director and chartered surveyor.
She said: “As we have grown, the various departments within the business have become fragmented across locations and I am delighted that we are now able to bring everyone under one roof.
“This will allow us to better serve our customers, offer all of our service lines from one location and drive efficiencies within the business.
“Sometimes customers could also end up going to the wrong office depending on what they wanted to do – it may save them a few steps too!”
Richard Watkinson added “The business has had its roots in Newark town centre for over 30 years.
“While over the years we have grown in to many other locations, Newark has always been at the heart and I am proud that as the business continues to expand we will maintain a high profile presence in the town centre and successfully employ within the area.
“Any services our customers require can now be found in one location”.
Just a stone’s throw from the bustling Market Place, the move has also led to a marked uptick in business due to the increased footfall of being located on one of the town’s busiest shopping streets.
Kirsty added: “We can’t believe how many more people have just been popping in. It’s been lovely.
“But that’s how it should be in the town centre, and we don’t believe it works as well online.
“We have so much experience here, with members of staff who have been with us for 15 to 20 years, which is rare in this industry and Richard and I being members of the Royal Intuition of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), for over 70 years between us, having a wealth of experience on all property matters.
“We want to be face to face and are here to help customers with their property needs, whatever they need — we are a people business.”
Richard Watkinson & Partners operates from offices in Newark, Southwell, Bingham, Radcliffe on Trent and Mansfield. Its new Newark office can be found at 25 Stodman Street. No appointments necessary.
