Two men reportedly then followed him down one of the shopping aisles before subjecting him to an unprovoked assault.

He was punched and kicked to the head during the incident, which left him with a broken nose and multiple bruises across his face, before the attackers left the store immediately after the assault.

Officers investigating the incident have so far arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and have release an image of someone else they’d like to speak to as part of their inquiries.

PC Nathan Somes, of Nottinghamshire Police, said that the assault was “completely unacceptable in every sense”:

“This was an unprovoked attack on a man who was minding his own businesses when he was set upon.

“We’re determined to track down the people responsible for this attack and have so far arrested one suspect as part of our investigation.

“We believe the person in this picture has information that could assist our investigation further, so would urge him to get in touch with us.

“Likewise, anyone who recognises him, or was inside the shop at the time and saw what happened, is also asked to contact the police.”

Anyone with information can report it directly to the police by calling 101, quoting incident 270 of April 4. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
